Ay Luigi!
I drew yesterday's Luigi Mangione hearing
Thank you so much to the hundreds of monsters who have signed up since I started posting regularly on substack. As an independent artist with a giant mouth, your subscriptions help me do the work I want, unconstrained by collectors or corporations. I am truly grateful. If you like my art, you can also buy my books and prints.
Dear monsters, I spent yesterday fighting for a place in the press pit at the Manhattan Criminal Court, where America’s Sweetheart is having another pre-trial hearing. I don’t think any pen could convey the sheer amount of female desire compressed into the fifteenth floor of the courthouse. At least I could capture the grouchiness of the cops.
It took four hours wait to see Luigi for 30 seconds. Luckily, I know how to draw fast.
You can see the rest of the art on The Verge, alongside a lovely essay by Mia Sato.
