The New York Times Opinion: "You're Being Lied To About Voter Fraud. Here's the Truth."
I found the first part amusing. In December I will be 70, and to hear people saying a woman is no longer sexually attractive at 30 seems adorable to me, like 6-year-olds asked when they think old age starts, who reply, "Um, maybe 20?" But I do want to know what the hell it is with young women that it seems they ALL think they have to use all kinds of makeup, including the eyebrow abuse I really hate--in the 70s feminist threw that shit off, I thought.
I was surely prettier in my 20s but I was also too neurotic to be happy--i outgrew that, outgrew my first husband and am much happier now with my second one.
Also--whenever i feel unhappy about getting old, I remind myself of something a now-dead neighbor said when i was in my 30s and she was in her 50s. She was quoting one of the silent film stars, who said, "Oh to be 60 again!" when she was 90. And here we weren't even 60! 'Course, now I'm past that ...but I don't fuss about age (never did) and I no longer fear death. We all get our century (max) on the stage and then it's someone else's turn, and that's as it should be.
After reading this, I thought you are even more talented a writer than an illustrator, but then I went and watched the video you won those emmys for, and I thought you are so damned talented. period. And you're talent has obviously been honed by a lot of hard work-I can only imagine how much went into that video!
Also, as a 63 year old women, this is the best piece I think I have ever read on this subject (although, I must admit, I, also, have been too busy living to think (or read) much about it). I hope you have much more than 20 years of good health left, and I hope I'm still around at 90 to see what you have to say about being 60.

Superbly written! By the way, I’m 73 so from my vantage point you’re still young! Congratulations on your Emmy!
Whoever told you you are not perfect in every way was, at best, mistaken.
😉

Vive la femme!
I should have checked my math. I'll only be 81 when you hit 60, so I have better odds of witnessing your 60 year old wisdom.
Haunting and beautiful at the same time. I adore your writings.
